I begin each mixed media floral painting by sketching flowers from life with vine charcoal on a brightly toned canvas, rotating the canvas to let the composition evolve organically from multiple perspectives. Large, confident brushstrokes of acrylic paint bring the initial vision to life.
To enhance the blooms, I add details with graphite and pops of pastel, creating depth and contrast. Each painting is finished with multiple coats of archival varnish, ensuring its longevity and vibrancy. This process allows me to celebrate the timeless beauty of nature in every piece.
